Prayer Group

Our parish is blessed to have four active prayer groups: the Mar Ivanios Prayer Group, St. Mother Teresa Prayer Group, St. Joseph Prayer Group, and Mar Barnabas Prayer Group. Each group meets once a month for a prayer gathering, typically held on a Saturday evening at the residence of a parishioner who graciously volunteers to host.

Each prayer group elects a Secretary and Treasurer to coordinate and represent the group’s activities. The prayer meeting begins with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, followed by devotional songs. Children and adults then take turns reading a selected passage from the Old Testament.

The Vicar reads from the Holy Gospel and offers a reflection, after which the members engage in individual prayers of intercession and thanksgiving. The gathering concludes with the Sandhya Prarthana (Evening Prayer) and a final blessing. The Secretary concludes the session by presenting a brief report summarizing the previous meeting's highlights.

As a cherished tradition, all four prayer groups come together annually during the Christmas season to sing carols and visit the homes of parish families. This joyful event is attended by parishioners of all ages and is celebrated with warmth, love, and community spirit.
